We would
like to congratulate Heidi on starting her BFS-group at our department! 2011 brought us the launching of a
new research group, DAMARA (Dark Matter Analysis, Research and
Applications), financed by the UoB and Bergen Research
Foundation (Bergens Forskningsstiftelse). This
group is part of the group for Subatomic Physics and includes Heidi Sandaker, researcher, along with two doctoral students and
one postdoc. The main aim of this new group is to take part in ATLAS analysis
of 2011 data from LHC and participate in their search for possible traces of supersymmetry. Simultaneously, the group will start with
a new activity within the field of astro-particle
physics aimed at researching universeÕs dark matter via either direct or
indirect observation. Last but not least, the group wishes to contribute to
detector development of future particle detectors. New students, both PhD- and
Masterstudents, are all welcome to join the project
and participate in the exciting research taking place here and now. |
