I would like to encourage the IFT
employees and students to participate next Friday in the grand semester party
announced below. One needs no particular reason to have fun together, but in
this case we employees and our master students have a special assignment to make
sure that the new bachelor students feel included and get to know the other
department members. There is not much to be said about each of the respective
research groups during just a short presentation of our department. In order
to answer all of the potential questions following the presentation, I invite
research group leaders to be available for the Q&A session or appoint a
group representative to be there – preferably in the company of a PhD- and
a master student. A big thank you to the Technical
Committee for their efforts in organizing this gathering! Have a great weekend! |
Research Days are approaching and
we would particularly like to remind you of the Research Grand Prix that
will take place in Bergen for which event the tickets will be available as of Monday from 10:00 a.m. There
is a limited number of tickets and they are free of
charge – and therefore exclusive. IFTÕs Thomas Gjesteland is one of the
ten research assistants competing for the two first places
which might take him to the national finale taking placve on October 2
– be there to support Thomas! |
THE GRAND SEMESTER PARTY The new and the old students and
employees are welcome to ÒTHE SEMESTER PARTYÓ! There will be a great programme with information about the department with former students telling us about their study experience and the later shift into the working life. This is a golden opportunity to meet and get to know the new faces at our department! Food serving and an open bar are included.

Formational
aspects of education The
University and College CouncilÕs board (UHR) addressed in April 2010 the
proposal of the UHRÕs Educational Committee on appointing a working group which would come up with the good examples of how formation
could be safeguarded within the university and college sector. The working
group should follow the guidelines set by the independent Formation Committee which submitted its guidelines in 2009. The
working groupÕs report is now completed and can be downloaded here. |
