From the head of department

The first significant event following the summer holidays is the Fysikermøtet (The Physicists' Meeting), August 7.-10. 2013 here in Bergen! If you haven't registered yet, you can do it here where you can also find more information on the program. Note that the Norwegian Physics Society will support participation of students during this year's Fysikermøte by removing participation fees for students who will present their work during the meeting. Otherwise, the early-bird registration deadline is on June 15.

  Information meeting on new SFI-announcement

All who are interested are welcome to the information meeting on the announcement of new SFI-centers in 2015. The program coordinator  Liv Jorunn Jenssen will also participate and give information on the plans, application requirements and so on.

  • Wednesday, June 12 at 13.00 – 14.30 at Hordaland Fylkeskommune, 1. floor, Agnes Mowinckels gate 5, Bergen

Registration deadline is on June 10. Registration through Atle Markussen. No participation fees. It would be good if potential applicants could contact the department administration so that we can provide UiB support during the process.

 

Election of representatives to the faculty administration is prolonged until Wednesday June at 12.00

Due to a few problems regarding mass-emails to persons with right to vote, the election of representatives for groups A, C and D is prolonged until Wednesday June 12. at 12.00.

 

All voters will receive information on the election process and how to vote in individual emails. Those of you who do not receive the email from the election board can vote by following this link.

Anja Hegen started to work as administrative coordinator at SFF Birkeland Center on June 1st. She has a PhD in Biology from the University of Freiburg in Germany and has worked as an EU adviser at UiBs division of research administration for the past four years
