From the head of department
You are now reading the
last issue of IFT-posten for this semester. After the summer holidays a new 4
year period with new administration at UiB and the faculty. IFT will continue
its contributions in order to realize UiB’s visions on becoming an
internationally recognized research university. We would like to thank those
who have worked very hard over many years and wish all the best to the new
administration. A special congratulation to our new dean Helge K. Dale who
has been employed by the University Board yesterday. I would like to wish
everyone a good summer holidays. Remember to allocate much time to doing
nothing and also that us physicists have a great possibility for an
outstanding semester start by participating at the Fysikermøtet – program and

Kick-off and welcoming of new students
The faculty has one of
the best welcoming of new BSc students in the country. This fall we will be
welcoming the greatest number of students ever. Get to know our several
offers the students will receive here. New faculty administration at MatNat
New members of the
faculty board are now elected. The new faculty board will as of August 1.
2013 will consist of eight elected members, in addition to the new faculty dean, Helge K.
Dale. PhD
