From the head of department
The end of the year as well as time for reporting this year's
activities are approaching. Soon the group leaders will receive an email with
a request for feedback. It is then important that everyone in the groups,
gives a feedback to the group leaders about important results and events
which should be included, including students. The report should be brief and
be written in a format that would be easy for everyone at the department to

Publication of reading lists
This is a reminder to all lecturers that the reading lists should be
uploaded onto Mi side within December 1. In case the reading lists are not
yet finalized, a comment on when these will be available should be uploaded. The
uploading can be carried out using the admin-tab on Mi side. Quality Assurance SeminarThe Education Committee and the Education Administrative
Department are happy to invite employees and students to the annual quality
assurance seminar: December 13, 09.00-15.00, Egget, Studentsenteret. Registration within December 4. The first part of the program is on the quality assurance
work at UiB, where «Ugleprisen» and «Læringsmiljøprisen» will be awarded.
This year's PEK-projects will be presented with a poster session. The rest of
the day is reserved for exchange of experience with use of digital tools for
teaching. Representatives from different departments will give an orientation
about their experiences. The target group is primarily teaching staff,
department heads, program chairs, students and others with interest in
quality assurance. Open meeting at Norges Tekniske Vitenskapsakademi
NTVA invites to a meeting in Bergen with Mathias Ziegler, professor, Department of Molecular Biology, University of Bergen: On
Tuesday, December 10, at 19:00 at Nansensenteret, Marineholmen, Thormøhlens
gate 47. Traditional "juletallerken" will be served after the
lecture. The price per person is 250,00 NOK. Registration until 15.00, Thursday December 5. Registration
is required only for those who would like to attend the dinner. h-bar
On Tuesdays, every even numbered week, pub-lectures will be held at H-bar.
