From
the head of department
Construction work at our
department was, was along with the budget for 2013, the topic of last
Thursday’s Department Council meeting. It was a very constructive meeting
which will be followed by a general meeting this coming Friday, read more information
below. The process of finding the solutions for an improved use of department
space is both challenging and engaging, and that is indeed good. But it is
also important to recognize that, what was considered to be good in the 70’s,
no longer is, and that we need to think in the long run in order to ensure
the optimal use of space in the years to come. Our master students and
emeriti can otherwise enjoy the fact that we agreed in a consensus that it
was not necessary to change their room constellations this time. Have a great weekend, News
and general information
Information meeting on the
construction work at the department
All employees and
students are welcome to join the information meeting regarding the current construction
work at our department:
We intend to present you
with the reasons why this reconstruction is a necessity and how we intend to
proceed with it – along with the facts already presented in the announcements
sent out last week and before Christmas. We also intend to go through the
schedule for this work which we count on being finished by the summer. Some
of you will have their offices moved to other placeswithin
the building, but the biggest change will be that the professors’ offices will
be shared by two. This has to be done as it is the only measure which will contribute
greatly to the solution of the challenges ahead – and there will be no
discussion about that at the information meeting. The aim of this meeting is
to provide you all with information and receive comments and suggestions which
contribute to finding the best solutions, within the given framework. Welcome! New issue of FunderFinder
Januar-issue of FunderFinder is
now ready for downloading – obligatory reading for all research employees! Read
also the interview with Bodil Holst on EU-project NEMI – for inspiration. Open meeting at the Norwegian
Technical Science Academy
