From the head of department

I would like to use the last Friday as department head and professor at this department to thank you all for good cooperation and faith over several years, both at the level of our faculty and UoB in general. This has been a very fruitful and inspiring experience on many levels and not without melancholy after so many years – I like to say that I practically grew up at the Department of Physics. But I am also looking forward to the new challenges and possibilities lying in closer cooperation between HiB and UoB in areas where that would be possible. I greatly value the fact that the faculty had given me the possibility to continue as Professor II, both working with the faculty and UoB, not to mention working with the colleagues from this department. I would like to give a special thanks to the leader group over the past 4 years for incredible efforts, even at times when the challenges had been great: Per, Kjartan and Kåre, and particularly Grete and the entire administrative department for great support, great cohesion and positive mood.

Thank you all,
Geir Anton
